It is a great time to be apart of Middle School Ministry! Heres whats happening!
This past weekend, Sunday morning, our students and leaders participated in a service project. We put together Harvest Day bags for our missions/outreach ministry here at OCC. Students and leaders put together 394 bags in 20 minutes! Thank you to all who helped and contributed.
Over the last 3 months, we have asked students and leaders to bring in old clothes or unworn clothes to the Clothing Closet here at OCC. Students and leaders have filled up a huge corner in the Middle School Room. We took the bags upon bags of clothes to the Clothing Closet this past week and lets just say the ladies will be busy going through clothes for a while! It took 10 trips back-n-forth with a cart to haul all the bags. Thank you for serving Christ!

Greetings from Middle School Ministry! Summer has ended and Fall is just around the corner! First, thank you for your support and prayers for our ministry. God has been doing great things in Connection through leaders and students. Since Summer began, 8 students have decided to receive Jesus Christ into their lives! Some decisions were made at Camp Illiana and some during Sunday Service. Nevertheless, God is moving in Middle School Connection.
About Us:
Middle School Ministry exists to glorify God in all we do. Our aim to is lift up the name of Jesus Christ and to make our joy others joy by fulfilling the Great Commission. Our heart for every student is that they would come to know Jesus Christ. We feel the best way to equip them for complete Joy in Christ is to challenge them in three key area’s:
Connect: We encourage students to connect to Jesus Christ by abiding in His Word, and others by forming healthy, Christ-centered relationships with students and leaders.
Growing and developing: One decision to accept Christ is amazing work done by the Holy Spirit, but the Bible teaches us our spiritual journey just beings there. So, we encourage students to grow in their understanding and knowledge of God through Bible study, prayer, community, and service.
Serve: Jesus gave us the ultimate example of humility and service by dying on the cross. He came not to be served, but to serve. In Middle School Connection, whether it’s serving on the worship team, gathering clothes for Haiti, or picking up trash, our hope is to grow students’ understanding of Christ by service.
Here’s whats happening in Middle School:
Saturday Service: 5:30-6:30pm, we usually start out with games in the gym, then we move into our teaching time.
Sunday Morning: 9:30-10:40am. Sunday mornings are now designated for small groups. Small groups are made up of 1 or 2 adult leaders with 6-10 students of the same age and gender. We currently have 10 small groups, but we are looking to grow! Sign up for a small group at the Middle School Connection room.
Sunday Evenings: 5-6:30pm. We are strongly encouraging students to make it back to our Sunday Service. Sunday Service is called “4:16″. 4:16 consists of worship, teaching, games, food, and fellowship. Be sure to check us out.
Fall Calendar: We are excited to introduce our Fall calendar! We have great opportunities for students to connect, grow, and serve this Fall and Winter. Be sure to print off the calendar so you know what’s going on! If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at 683-2706, jbell@owensborochristian.org . You can also find us on facebook.
